Developing a system of 7 additional wholesale markets in the Kemerovo region

Establishing a central Warehouse and a market information system to combine the benefits of the wholesale market system

Develop Wholesale Markets in other Regions of Siberia (Omsk, Altai)

In 1998 some 110 Traders in Kemerovo Municipal Wholesale Market, some 500 Traders in the Kemerovo region, comprising a yearly turnover of an estimated 130 Mio. US$ and creating some 2500 working places. Improvement of the food hygiene, decreasing street trading, stabilising consumer prices.

Modernisation of spraying equipment for pesticides

Financed by the German Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry

A project designed to install a advisory and control service for agricultural sprayers. The project is to demonstrate the economic effect of well-functioning sprayers, introduce methods of cheap and effective modernisation, show and explain practical effects.

The project provides equipment, organises demonstration fields and elaborates detailed economic analysis of the effects of modernisation. Project activities include training courses, seminars, training- on-the-job in cooperation with the local Agricultural University.

Establishment of an Agricultural Extension Service in Wolgograd, Russia

The project continued with the establishment of an agricultural extension service. The experience of the phases in 1992/1993 were used to adopt the content of activities to the changed needs of the counterpart.

Political consultancy to the regional Ministry of Agriculture. Initiating and realising the establishment of an agricultural extension service as one possible tool to inform the management of farms as well as the new founded farmers on the economic framework in a marketing economy. Seminars and training-on-the-job of local advisers. Information and transfer of experience in privatisation/ restructuring to local authorities during a study tour in Germany. Adaptation of German experience and implementation of measures to improve efficiency.

Establishing an agricultural extension service in cooperation with the administration and the farmers union of Perm (AKKPO). Integrated project including training of local experts in Russia and Germany, studies and implementation of privatisation/restructuring of Russian state owned farms, seminars and workshops on various issues, information and transfer of know- how.

In 1993 expansion of project area. Initiating a fruitful cooperation between local administration and Farmers Union and integration of the administration into the project. Information and know-how transfer to key personnel in administration, agricultural enterprises and processing industries. Training of local staff to become adviser of the extension service. Study tour to Germany. Implementation of new management methods in farms and administration.
